In our annual Community Surveys, which we undertake every February, safety, security and policing is always one of the top three issues which require improvement in the City of Karratha.
The last 12 months have seen most crime statistics heading down, which is welcome news, but we are not yet where we need to be, so we are once again asking people to complete our annual Safety Survey
The 2020 Community Safety Survey is open until November 30 and we would like as many as possible to complete it.
The short questionnaire is a great opportunity for you to have your voice heard on any community safety concerns you have and is a chance to reflect on what you feel we are doing well and what we could do better to improve community safety.
Community Safety is front and centre for council and this annual survey helps inform what areas we should focus on and what our priorities should be in terms of improving safety within the community. This year you will go into the running to win one of two $250 Try Local vouchers when you take part.
The survey informs our Safer Communities Partnership which is a joint initiative between the City of Karratha, WA Police, key industry stakeholders and the State Government. It aims at working with the community to develop and implement programs which mitigate crime and increase community safety.
Last year 894 residents had their say and overall 82% of them felt the City of Karratha is generally a safe place to live. This year we would love to see that number grow and I can’t emphasize enough how valuable this information is to helping us on our path to become Australia’s most liveable regional city.
The survey closes November 30 so jump online now and head to the City of Karratha website to take part and have your say!
