The Red Earth Arts Festival kicks off this Friday at the Red Earth Arts Precinct Amphitheatre. The Amphitheatre has been transformed into a festival hub we have called “The HeART” and it will be the central meeting place throughout the 10 day festival.
If you have yet to secure tickets to any of the fantastic events on offer, now is the time to do so as they have been going fast. I am sure you will find something you like as a lot of work has been put in to ensure this year’s festival provides a diverse program that caters to all members of the community and all ages.
We are presenting 22 separate event experiences over 10 days with events as Every Day Super Hero which transforms participants of all ages into powerful super citizens. Or First Light on the Rocks where Clinton Walker will tell stories to live music as the sun rises on the Karratha Hills Yaburara Heritage trail. And don’t forget the Breaksea Community Sing finale on the grass at the HeART with rock, pop, folk and opera and our own community choir.
2020 was a difficult year for artists and performers as the pandemic closed theatres and limited audience numbers even at outdoor events. The City of Karratha is keen to play its part to support our artistic community so REAF 2021 puts an emphasis on supporting local performers. We are therefore very pleased to have 65 Western Australian artists and performers taking part with over 200 community participants
Whether it be letting your hair down at a good old fashioned rock and roll show at the Speedway, joining in and engaging with a giant marionette puppet show or taking to the streets of Karratha for an immersive journey, REAF 2021 has something for everyone!
