Time is running out to take advantage of the $100 Try Local vouchers that were sent out to every household across all City of Karratha towns in August.

Whilst it is encouraging to see more than 50% of households have now activated their vouchers through the ‘Try Local’ dashboard, only a quarter of the $850,000 available to the community has been spent. With the closing date of October 1st fast approaching, I am encouraging everyone in the community to get on board and help give local businesses a boost, spend your cash!

Redeeming your cash is straight forward, once you have registered your household’s unique code via the try local dashboard you can start spending. Try Local cash can be redeemed at more than 130 local businesses and every dollar spent will go to supporting our community and helping our local business sector thrive.

The initiative is a collaboration with the Karratha & Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KDCCI) and Rio Tinto and brings our total support value to $4.3 million since March.

Whether you choose to treat the cash as a free coffee voucher for the next few weeks, put it towards groceries for the family or see it as a $100 discount for that big ticket item you have been eyeing off, I encourage everyone to make the most of this incentive and support local.

The purpose of this initiative is less about providing you with a little extra cash but more about ensuring our local businesses receive as much of the allocated $850,000 from this initiative as possible.

So, if you have activated, start spending. If you haven’t activated it yet, do it today. We put the cash up now it’s up to you to make sure our community and local businesses get the most out of this initiative!
