Water Polo Country Championships 2022

Welcome to the City of Karratha and the 2022 Western Australian Country Water Polo Championships.

Thankyou to all who have travelled the long WA distances to get here for this event – it is costly and time consuming and we very much appreciate you taking the effort.

Water Polo in Karratha continues to go from strength to strength. The Karratha Marlins Water Polo Association has flourished since it was formed in 2013 and now supports four clubs with A and B grade teams, a junior competition for ages 13-18 and Flippa Ball for water polo beginners aged 8-12 years.

Hosting the National Country Championships at this facility some years back was a huge success, the Association plays with its Pilbara neighbours when the opportunity arises and always competes in the WA Country Championships.

Events like these wouldn’t be possible without the City of Karratha’s Quarterly Grant scheme, which has provided generous financial and in-kind support to the Association to enable it to host these Championships.

The City of Karratha in turn, is honoured to support the 2022 Country Championships and congratulates the Karratha Marlins on the extensive effort that has gone into hosting this superb competition.

To our visitors, we hope you enjoy your stay in our town. If you have the time, take the opportunity to look around and perhaps enjoy the tours available on the Burrup Peninsular/Murujuga National Park, the Dampier Archipelago or inland to Millstream, Karijini or our many river pools and homesteads.

Best of luck to everyone,

Peter Long
